Who we are

Who we are

Created in 2022, the European Rabbit Association brings together national associations and federations of professionals from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands, which are the main rabbit meat producing countries of the European Union. ERA represents the whole production chain (production, processing and marketing of rabbit meat).

Our objectives

  • To represent the interests of the rabbit sector to European decision-makers and stakeholders

  • To promote the values and quality standards for the production, processing and marketing of rabbit meat in Europe and, more generally, any action that could favour the development of the sector

  • To contribute, in liaison with other associations or entities, to European reflections and actions, particularly in the areas of agriculture, health, consumer protection and the environment

  • To promote rabbit welfare based on the most up-to-date scientific evidence

  • To encourage research synergies, knowledge and information sharing among the members
